Athletic Union
We at Hope train hard together and celebrate together, and put an emphasis on the social aspect of sport. Every Wednesday night all the teams come together in the Union for a night of 'Mayhem'. This is a fundraising night when each team takes it in turn to host an event, and all the proceeds go to the club who hosts it. The events vary each week but always begin with team drinking circles - come along on Wednesday nights to find out for yourself. To sign up to any of the clubs come along to the Freshers Fayre, during Fresher's week in the Union.
The Athletic Union exists within the Students' Union to promote a range of opportunities for competitive sport. Most of the A.U. teams play in the British Universities Sports Association (B.U.S.A.) Leagues, and most fixtures are played on Wednesday afternoons. We will also be taking part in three varsity matches this year, when all our teams will play against teams from another university - against Central Lancashire, Edge Hill and John Moores. These events have always proved to be very successful - especially the 'socialising' afterwards!
