Sabbatical Officer Elections 2017

Do you want a challenging rewarding role for £17,500 ?

Then why not stand for election for one of the Students’ Union sabbatical officer positions. Sabbatical officers are the leaders of the Students’ Union.  They shape campaigns, negotiate with university management and represent student interests.

The roles available are

President ( duties include)

  • Lead political voice of the Union
  • Chairs trustee boards
  • Oversees student groups
  • Member of university council

 

Vice President Welfare and Community (duties include)

  • Leads on student welfare campaigns (e.g housing and mental health)
  • Key contact with external organisations (e.g police, local councillors)
  • Lead responsibility for equality and liberation issues.
  • Serves on Equality and Diversity Committee and Health and Safety Committee

 

Vice President Education (duties include)

  • Leads on academic issues
  • Oversee course rep system
  • Lobbying the university for better learning facilities
  • Member of Teaching and Learning Committee

Nominations close 10th February

Voting takes place 6th – 10th March

 

Also do you know anyone who would make a great officer then recommend them to stand.

Write a few lines about them including their name and e mail it to union@hope.ac.uk. We will then contact them and tell them why they would make a great officer. Don’t worry we won’t disclose your name.
