Water is a basic need.

The lack of accessible drinking water (without having to pay) on both campuses is shocking.

Creative campus has no drinking fountains at all.

The NHS suggests that for a healthy lifestyle and an active brain we need around 2L of water a day. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-24464774

In the university shops a 500ml bottle of own brand Liverpool Hope University water is £1. So for some basic need, students could be paying £4 a day on water alone.

I, like many others, am concerned about the future.  In 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. (This prediction was made by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the World Economic Forum, in a report called The New Plastics Economy, which looks at the amount of plastic that ends up in the sea.)

The increase in water fountains will not only reduce the plastic bottle waste but it will give evidence that we, as a university, are not hypocritical when it comes to the values that we say we stand for.

More accessible drinking water fountains!!! Less waste!!!
