Thinking about private student accommodation? We’ve got this…
Don’t panic! There’s a surplus!
In Liverpool there is a surplus of private student accommodation which means there is plenty for you to choose from and you can take your time looking. It’s a myth that all the best accommodation gets snapped up early and you can certainly hold off your property search until later in the academic year, if that’s what you would prefer to do. Check out the LSH housing journey here.
It's also important that you take time to get to know your friends before you decide you want to live with them, as once a tenancy agreement is signed for a property, it's not easy to get out of if you change your mind later in the year.
Why use LSH?
Liverpool Student Homes (LSH) is the only official university-owned service for private student accommodation, of which your University and Students’ Union are stakeholders. LSH is dedicated to helping students to find good quality properties, advertising the widest range of accredited student accommodation, across the city and close to the Hope University Childwall and Creative campuses. All landlords and agents advertised by LSH have given a commitment to quality and service by agreeing to abide by the terms of the LSH Standards.
Having problems with your private accommodation?
If you have any problems while living in private accommodation during your time at University, LSH offer free and confidential housing rights advice. Your property doesn’t need to be registered with LSH to access this service. The LSH Housing Advisor is Tom Chew and can be contacted on 07970 247209 or email@example.com. Tom is usually available for drop in sessions on Mondays at Hope SU during term time between 9:30am-12:30pm, with afternoon drop-ins available from 1:30pm-4:30pm, but you can call to double check his availability.
Need to find a housemate or want to live with a group of friends? LSH hold regular meet ups. The next events are on Wednesday 19th September and Tuesday 25th September 2018, 12pm-2pm, in the LSH office at 5 Oxford Street, L7 7HL.
Each year, LSH also hold housing fairs around November/December, in time for the launch of properties for the next academic year on 1st December. Follow them on Twitter and Facebook to hear information about all their upcoming events.
LSH registered landlords and agents are invited to exhibit at the housing fairs and it’s your chance to meet with them and see what properties they have to offer. LSH staff are also on-hand to give advice and there are plenty of competitions and FREEBIES to be had.
