Decolonise LHU

Description

We aim to create safe spaces for Black & Global Majority students and advocate for the decolonisation of
Higher Education while having fun exploring University, Liverpool and beyond.

While University might be an exciting new chapter for many, students who identify as Black, POC or
as mixed-raced might find extra hurdles navigating University, finding support or who to socialize
with. This society offers a welcoming space to be yourself, just as you are. If you’re interested in
meeting new people, want to explore Liverpool or do fun activities – including going to museums,
gigs or outdoor retreats – this could be the space for you.

Decolonisation has many definitions and this is something we can explore as group and get actively
involved with, just by speaking up about our own experiences or marching outside at protests. We
hope to collaborate with other societies at LHU, in Liverpool and beyond to bring about exciting
meet-ups, events and activities.
