Liverpool Hope Students' Union is committed to providing our students with a safe and enriching environment while they study at Liverpool Hope. Our advice service offers impartial, free, personal and confidential support. We will actively listen, assist you in getting the help you require.
Maeve is our advice lead and will help with your queries.
We offer support via email, phone call and face-to-face. We will aim to answer emails and phone calls Monday – Friday, 10 am – 4 pm. If you would prefer a face-to-face meeting, then email suadvice@hope.ac.uk before to arrange a good time for an appointment.
We will try our best to answer your query within 48 hours. If your query is specifically time sensitive, then add the words ‘urgent’ to the subject line and let us know any deadlines.
Whilst our service does close during holiday periods, we will let students know in advance. Please note that some external services do stay open 24/7.
All students can access this service even one year after graduation
We provide advice on academic issues and are aware of the mental toll they can have on our students; therefore, we provide support by but not limited to, the following.
- Accompanying you to meetings with the university
- Helping you complete necessary paperwork
- Providing advice on university processes
- Helping you through academic appeals
- Helping you navigate the process of applying for extenuating circumstances
- Advising on student complaints
- Support during fitness to practice or fitness to study procedures
- Guidance on student disciplinary’s
- Advice on attendance and appeals against withdrawal
- Guidance on placement issues
We understand the importance of a healthy living situation for our students to thrive and enjoy their time throughout their whole university experience. We provide housing support for students in halls on campus and those who are living in private accommodation. The areas that we support are but not limited to the following.
- Tenancy agreements
- Housing disrepair
- Anit-social behaviour
- Pest control
- Withdrawing from a tenancy agreement
- Issues with other tenants
To help us resolve these issues as quickly as possible it is helpful at send a copy of the tenancy contract and copies of relevant correspondence the start of the support process.

Financial difficulties are unfortunately something many students struggle with. We believe it is crucial that you find the correct support as soon as possible therefore we have linked some useful resources below including the university hardship fund information so you can check if you are eligible.
We are aware that many students take up part-time work while studying with us or are involved in an apprenticeship or placement. We are here to support you with any difficulties that arise in your place of work. Some examples of areas we can help are, but not limited to, the following:
