The vice- president for welfare and community for liverpool hope students' union is elected annually. They are responsible for representing and seeking the views of students related to the community and weldare at liverpool hope university. They are involved in the strategic development often campaigning on issues that affect students.
As VP Welfare and Community, I’ll be looking out for different communities at Liverpool Hope, including the community of the overall student body. It is my job to make sure students feel safe and accepted at Hope, and to be a safe space to turn to should you feel that anything needs to change. The SU is here for the students and always have your best interests at heart.
I ran for this position because I love the Hope community and I want to be part of developing that further and supporting students through such an exciting time of their lives.
My 3 key focus points for this year are:
1. Providing cost of living support through advocating to policymakers, promoting deals and tips for students and developing the SUs range of freebies
2. Promoting belonging & inclusion by organising social and networking events for students with focus on specific marginalised communities and others to bring everyone together.
3. Improving access to social and career based opportunities and access to health and wellbeing support and services.
I am a traditional manx dancer and have performed internationally at festivals
We are always welcoming advice and feedback on events they would like to see and things they would like to change in the uni
We are an independent organisation from the university and work to hold the university accountable
