Book-Keeping and Tax Essentials

This course will introduce you to the book-keeping skills needed to help you manage your business finances and submit a tax return with HMRC.

Friday 16th May 2014

10am - 4pm

Course Content

The sessions will cover:

  • Developing your financial skills
  • Registering your business with HMRC and the support available
  • Understanding National Insurance contributions
  • Understanding business expenses and capital expenses
  • How to complete your company financial forecast

On completion of the course, you will be able to register your business or as self-employed and feel confident about submitting a tax return and keeping financial records.

You can look at the HMRC Website for more information on tax, National Insurance, business records and expenses. They also have a section on Tax Guidance for Social Enterprises.

Cost:

The course is free to attend for anyone thinking of registering a business or any eligible* SME's in the Merseyside region.

*Ineligible sectors include retail, direct consumer trade, childcare, finance, insurance, aquaculture, agriculture, coal, steel, shipbuilding and synthetic fibre production
