Revised Shuttle bus time table: Do you want to Keep it the same or Change it back?
The Free University shuttle bus service has been drastically changes from last year, with only one direct bus at the time of 8:30 leaving from Aigburth to Hope park. Last year service saw direct buses at 8:30, 10:30, 12.00 and 2:45 and these were suitable times to suit all who wanted to go to Hope park. This year in order to use the shuttle bus service from Aigburth to Hope park after 8:30, students must first travel on the shuttle bus to the Creative campus, which then goes on to arrive at Hope park 50 minutes later at quarter past the hour. To avoid these delays students have to use 2 public buses, which is creating a financial burden to the students residing at Aigburth that they had not foreseen last year when choosing accommodation. Many Students situated at Aigburth campus are unhappy about the service on offer, as they were not consulted nor informed prior to the changes and would like the changes reconsidered.
Come to the forum to share your experiences and thoughts about the new shuttle bus time table and decide what action the union takes.
What is this forum?
The Hope in the Community forum offers students the opportunity to have an active role within their community; addressing issues outside of academic life that impact upon a student’s experience. This forum will cover a wide range of topics from housing issues to drug awareness campaigns as well as the Unions’ relationship with the surrounding community and city. Also this forum offers you the chance to ask the SU Vice President Welfare & Community or Student officers any questions and for student groups to apply for funding, which is decided by you.
