Generations United Against Austerity

https://vimeo.com/189522355?ref=em-v-share

The Government and the media try to set young workers, students and pensioners against each other. They claim that the lot of young people can be improved by attacking the benefits given to the older generation.

The Merseyside Pensioners Association reject this view. We  understand the  problems faced by young people, however 1 in 6 pensioners live in poverty. We believe the problems of housing, low wages, job insecurity, poor pensions & poor health care provision cannot be solved by putting young against old.

We, the Merseyside Pensioners Association believe there is an  alternative to austerity. The real cause of austerity is huge wealth in the hands of the few, subsidies to bankers, and failure to support industry. With public services handed over to the Tories friends to make profits.

MPA & Liverpool Hope SU have therefore organised a conference on

Saturday, November 12th at the Holiday Inn, Liverpool

This conference aims to unite the generations to work together to fight back against this Government and the policies of austerity.
