We are hosting a Night in to show support and soladarity to the zero tolerance to drink and injection spiking campaign.
According to a YouGov survey taken in November 2021:
1 in 9 women say they have been a victim of spiking. In total a third of women have either been spiked themselves or know someone who has
6% of men have been spiked 4 in 10 women said they do not think police officers would take them seriously if they reported being spiked And according to a national survey carried out by Stamp Out Spiking a whopping 97% of spiking cases aren’t even reported.
We understand that no gender is free from the risk of spiking. This event is open to everyone in order to make venues listen to people’s concerns and respond to the huge increase in recent drink spiking cases. The movement is asking clubs and bars to increase their entry security and offer free drink protection devices. Young people across the UK are boycotting nightclubs in order to put pressure on the venues in order to prevent the massive uprise in drink spiking. The movement is also asking venues to provide a clear and obvious guide for people who have been spiked.
