For the Inspirational Women Series, Liverpool Hope Women's Network has asked three women with links to the University to share their stories.

The final speaker is Angela Samata.

Angela lost her partner Mark 11 years ago when he took his own life. She went on to lead the Liverpool group of Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS) and currently sits on the All Party Parliamentary Group tackling suicide prevention in England and Wales. Angela presented the 2015 BBC documentary Life After Suicide to encourage people to talk about the issue of bereavement by suicide and to encourage those who may be suicidal to talk about their feelings. The documentary has just been short-listed for the 2016 TV BAFTA’s. Angela was named Merseyside Woman of the Year for 2015.
