Scribble Society is a society dedicated to bringing LHU students together to celebrate their creativity whilst sharing ideas with each other, having fun and making friends. We run weekly workshops/sessions on Hope Park during term time from 4pm – 6pm with an open door policy. Every week is centred around different activities so one week may be poetry slam whilst another is collage making or character creation – we cater to requests too! At the end of the day, we are made by students for students. We are driven by our members and everyone has an equal say.
Aside from weekly sessions, we sometimes run socials around Liverpool exploring places like the Walker Art Gallery, cafes and bookstores. These socials are just extra time to spend together and small bursts of adventure to escape from the university campus.
On top of aiming to be a creative safe space for the Hope Community, ever academic year we aim to publish a zine holding a series of works (writing, photography, art, comic strips, etc.) by the members and students of Hope. The zine’s theme changes every year too. The works published in the zine will undergo processes that reflect the professional industry (review, feedback and editing), helping you to reach your potential as best as we can. The final zine will be sold physically for a limited period of time before uploading onto our website. Furthermore, this zine will then be sold and all proceeds will be donated to a charity chosen at the beginning of the new year by the members! Last year we donated to the Liverpool Domestic Abuse Service and this year we will be donating to KIND.
