🎙️ Tune in to our weekly podcasts throughout Black History Month, where this year’s theme is “Honouring Our Communities.”

Each week, we’ll be speaking to members of the Hope community about their personal experiences, exploring their different backgrounds, the barriers they’ve faced, and the journeys that have brought them to where they are today.

We’re lucky to have so many incredible people across our campuses, and these conversations are a great opportunity to look beyond the familiar faces we see every day and gain a deeper insight into their stories, experiences and lives.

This week, we spoke with Khurrum, our Students’ Union Manager, who shared his personal experiences of adversity and the challenges he has faced throughout his journey.

Khurrum also spoke about how empowering it is to support the student community in breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for students to thrive. He shared his thoughts on why initiatives such as Black History Month are so important, not only for raising awareness, but also for promoting visibility and representation of minority groups across campus.

It was a really insightful conversation that highlighted the importance of creating a community where everyone feels seen, heard and supported. ❤️
